How to setup BrandGhost hosted blogs on your website domain for optimal SEO.

How to Set Up /blog to Route to Your BrandGhost Blog

This lets visitors reach your BrandGhost-hosted blog at yourdomain.com/blog instead of a separate BrandGhost subdomain. It's a two-part setup: configuration inside BrandGhost, plus a routing rule on your main website's host. The second part usually needs whoever manages your website's hosting/DNS (a developer, agency, or your website platform's support).

Before you start

• You need a domain you control (e.g. yourdomain.com) and access to its DNS settings.
• You need admin access to wherever your main marketing site is hosted (Vercel, WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, Cloudflare, etc.), since that site — not BrandGhost — serves everything outside /blog.

Step 1 — Connect a custom domain in BrandGhost

1. Open your BrandGhost dashboard and go to Blog Settings.

   

2. Under Domain, enter a subdomain to host your blog content, e.g. blog.yourdomain.com, and click Connect Domain. BrandGhost shows a DNS Configuration panel with a CNAME record to add:

   Type:  CNAME
   Name:  blog            (or your chosen subdomain)
   Value: cname.vercel-dns.com
   

   Add that CNAME record in your domain's DNS provider (e.g. GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, Route 53).

3. Wait for DNS to propagate (usually minutes, sometimes up to a few hours), then confirm the domain shows as Connected in BrandGhost.

Step 2 — Enable the /blog path

1. Still in Blog Settings, find the Blog Path card.

2. Turn on the Use the /blog path switch. This becomes available once your custom domain is connected and active.

   

3. BrandGhost confirms the path format your articles will use: /blog/posts/your-article, with categories and feeds under /blog.

Step 3 — Route /blog from your main website to BrandGhost

Your main website (wherever yourdomain.com is hosted today) needs a rewrite/reverse-proxy rule that forwards any request under /blog/* to the blog.yourdomain.com you just connected, while keeping the visible URL as yourdomain.com/blog/*.

If your main site is hosted on Vercel, add a rewrite to your vercel.json:

If your main site is on another platform (WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, Cloudflare Pages, Nginx, etc.), the concept is the same but the setup screen differs:

• Look for a feature called reverse proxy, rewrite rule, URL masking, or path forwarding.
• Point path /blog (and everything beneath it) at https://blog.yourdomain.com/blog.
• Some platforms (notably Squarespace and Wix) don't support this at the path level — in that case, use a subdomain like blog.yourdomain.comdirectly instead of mounting under /blog.

Step 4 — Verify it's live

1. Visit https://yourdomain.com/blog — it should show your BrandGhost blog index.
2. Click into an article and confirm the URL is https://yourdomain.com/blog/posts/<slug>.

Tips

• Your main site's robots.txt should reference the mounted sitemap at yourdomain.com/blog/sitemap.xml so search engines can discover it.
• One blog has one canonical public address — once /blog is active, the old blog.yourdomain.com URLs will redirect to the mounted /blog URLs automatically.
• Changing your connected domain later may require re-checking this rewrite rule if your main site's host changed too.
